PROMathon 2012: Meet the finalists!

We sifted through a pile of PROMathon applications, and although many of the essays touched us, we had to pick four finalists. And here they are!

The winner will get a makeover and write about her experience each week. We’ll also donate $1,000 to her school’s prom committee! Read a little bit about the top four finalists.

Voting ends 10 p.m. on Monday, March 12. The Mash’s PROMathon queen will be revealed in the March 15 issue.
*Voting for our PROMathon contest was accidentally shut off at midnight March 11 instead of noon on March 12. As a result, we’ve reopened the voting until 10 p.m. CST March 12.

REMEMBER: You can only vote once per hour per method!

Note: The voting results reflected above are the combination of valid online, text-in and Twitter votes. Due to the discovery of voting methods that did not meet the requirements of the official contest rules, The Mash temporarily suspended polling through themash.com, eliminated all votes made through the website prior to noon on March 2, and have instituted new polling technology to prevent improper voting for the remainder of the contest. Text-in and Twitter results were not affected and remain the same. You may resume voting as normal.

hey ok people, you guys dont know what stephanie’s done to deserve this!
she is the most adorable person in the world
she stays by her friends no matter what
she always has hope, no matter how bad it gets
she gives people too many chances than they deserve (me being one of them)
she can make you laugh in the worst situations
she is just a plain joy to have in life
if shes not promathon queen, you have all missed out on the chance to hear from the most greatest girl you can ever meet

You know how happy and proud we are of you. You were our Valentine’s gift when you were born, so special, so beautiful. You always have a smile on your face no matter what. I have all my classes voting for you every period of the day and “Chichi” asking on the radio to vote for you too, but if you don’t win this contest, don’t feel bad, you have achieved soooooo much in life that we see you already as a winner.
