Space shuttle Atlantis lifts off on final mission

CAPE CANAVERAL – The clouds haunting Kennedy Space Center parted late Friday morning, and NASA sent its last space shuttle skyward – with a magnificent roar that put Atlantis and its four astronauts into space and the agency’s manned space flight program closer to an end.

Katy Perry Allstate show postponed due to food poisoning

Katy Perry’s Friday concert at the Allstate Arena has been posponed due to “an attack of food poisoning leading to severe dehydration,” promoter Jam Production said in a release Friday. The Chicago show has been rescheduled to Aug. 21.
