Recently I watched the Spike Lee film ” Chi-Raq.” Before the movie came out there was a lot of negative attention, so it did kind of change my mind about wanting to watch the movie. Once it came out I didn’t rush to go see it because I thought it would be overrated. I finally saw it over my winter break and I actually enjoyed it.

Although it didn’t really show what’s really going on in Chicago with the gun violence it was pretty decent! Overall, I liked the movie but I think it couldn’t been better. It really didn’t show the realistic part of Chicago and how the violence changed the perspectives that people have on Chicago. Personally, I hate the words “Chi-Raq” and “Drillinois.” Those words really get under my skin. It really just focused on how to stop the violence but it didn’t use realistic problem solving skills that the Chicago citizens can use to help decrease the gun violence. I wouldn’t say this is a must see movie so if you haven’t seen it already then no need to rush and see it!
