Is your friend considered fake if they talk about you behind your back then come tell you to your face?

Dear Sharon,
It’s not being fake if she tells you, but I have to tell you, it’s not a good relationship. Talking about you and criticizing you is not a good friend. Your friend is suppose to be the one who sticks up for you when someone talks about you, not join in and add a negative comment. Just because she tells you doesn’t mean it’s OK. She doesn’t sound like a real friend.

Okay now if your friend is doing something and it hurts you to sit back and let her do it should you say something? And if you do say something she doesnt like what you said, then you lose a good friend then what?
